Eight tracks corralled from the same Smiths live show that made up the lion's share of the material on their only official live album, Rank. This selection from the much longer tracklisting on the night concentrates on songs from the later end of their career, namely a significant clutch from The Queen Is Dead - see the bombastic title track, 'Vicar In A Tutu', 'Bigmouth Strikes Again' and 'There Is A Light Than Never Goes Out' - plus standalone singles like 'Panic', 'Ask' and 'Is It Really So Strange'. This iteration of the band's live line up, with personnel reduced back to the classic four piece following the departure of Craig Gannon, is considered by many close observers to be the finest of all, and this picture disc capture it at its fiercest and most inventive.
